Here are a few frames from a fun session with Ozark, an 8 month old toddler. He was super easy to shoot, very playful, and curious about the giant camera in front of him.

I met Emily at broadway dance class, and she’s one of the most creative person I know. She’s been costume mistress for Ballet Austin, and now she’s performing at Ester’s Follies in Austin. So it was definitely not surprising how creative her wedding was. She came up with a tree of ribbons. Each ribbon had vintage bells stitched on them, with escort cards that had fabric on it. Each table was assigned a particular fabric. In addition she had memory jars as centerpieces, full of keepsakes from her and Mike.
The wedding was at the Hummingbird House, which has special meaning for me. It’s where I got married, and we were their first couple. It was a bit surreal shooting her wedding because of that. I was in the bridal getting ready suite, and having flashbacks of me waiting in the same room, and getting ready to process out. I have such good memories of this venue, and highly recommend it!

And in the shadows of the night
I’ll trace your silhouette in candlelight
And if you fall asleep when you rise

What a fabulous set! The pic of the FoB holding a handkerchief to his face made me well up. Lovely moment.
Here are some images I took, during a workshop with Fer Juaristi, and Daniel and Davina. These are photographers whose work I highly respect, and it was so educational to watch their photography process; how they interacted with the subjects, how they scout out the light and locations. It was amazing.
I was so inspired.
You can’t tell, but some of these photos were taken by a garbage dump, or a dubious alleyway.
Fer reminded me that there was beauty to be had… anywhere.
Daniel and Davina are masters of reflection and mirrors. Watching them infused a new sense of energy and creativity into my work.
