“Sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
Lewis Carroll.
The Austin mural must be one of the most photographed spots in Austin. It’s located in South 1st and Annie, and I tend to find myself standing in the middle of the road trying to get just that one right shot. There’s almost always another photographer in that spot, so you have to wait your turn.
I got to meet a really adorable couple: Liz and Wade, and photograph their engagement session. We started off at the Austin mural, and then we moved on to town lake, where we met an unusually attentive squirrel that kept trying to get closer and closer to us. Fortunately, it didn’t fly and attack us. (Though the picture of a flying attack squirrel would’ve been something.)
I’ve always noticed that it takes a while for people to be comfortable in front of the camera. I remember my own engagement session which I was so psyched about, and my husband-then-fiance was frowning, “Why do we have to do an engagement session?” And I dragged him along, and we ended up having fun. So I tend to be conscious of this, and let people take their time, while watching for unguarded moments of laughter and tenderness to quickly snap them up.
Here are my favorite moments from the shoot:

This was a New Year’s Day wedding for Amy Kate Photography. While she took the requisite group photos, I sneaked a shot of them getting ready.

After the bride and groom left the ceremony, the groom was overwhelmed with tears and he kept saying, “Hey, everyone this is my wife!”
The wedding was at the lovely

Here are a few of the images I documented for Cassie Rose Photography during a gorgeous winter wedding.
There are so many great moments during a wedding. Blink, and you might miss something important. I saw little boys chasing each other. A child being helped by her mother. A tender kiss from a mother to a son. And sometimes, the cake itself is just worth admiring.
I stood behind the guests during the ceremony, trying to capture the golden drops of sunset passing through the trees, and tickling the bridesmaids. We were on a mountain top, and just like the sun, we were shining on the bride and groom, wishing them joy and warmth.

Venue: The Lookout is located in the Texas hill country, just twenty minutes outside of Austin, and is great for a sunset wedding.

Great Colours!Nice moments of incredible day! Excellent Work!

Caroline Ghetes - I’ve seen so many Alice in Wonderland styled shoots, but this one is different. First of all, it’s doesn’t seem like it was styled, as in throwing a bunch of costumes on them and meaningless props in their hands. I love that it seems that this is the couple’s personality and that it isn’t pretentious in any way. Great work! Love the tones & the story!
Albert Palmer - These are very cool – great styling!
Thomas Lester - Very cool! Looks like a fairy tail.
Jean - These are so fun, sassy, colorful. I love this shoot!
