I had the pleasure of shooting at Three Points Ranch again, and Lexie and JT were absolutely wonderful. The first picture is a sneak peek from their wedding, and the rest is the bridals I took of her at Laguna Gloria a few months earlier.

Hello everyone… It’s 2012!

In theory, the winter months are “slow season” for wedding photographers, but I’m still catching up on editing weddings from last month. And this month I’ve a rush of engagement sessions for weddings coming up later in the year.

This session comes from the Austin town lake (lady bird lake), which is also one of my favorite walking trails in Austin. I’m so excited to share this engagement session! Ben and Courtney are super fun to shoot, and I can’t wait for their wedding.

2011 has been amazing. I quit my day job in May and pursued photography as a full time job, and the experience has been so rewarding. Yes, being self-employed has its stresses, for example, I’m the marketing team, the editing team, the creative team, the accountant and the corporate psychologist (it’s all going to be fine, just breathe!). But it’s been so interesting and challenging, I’ve never worked so hard in my life. The people that I’ve met, the intimate moments I’ve seen. Me crying at weddings of clients who turn into friends. It has been a great experience.

In 2011 I worked 32 weddings. That’s a lot of joy, love and wedding cake 🙂

Here’s to a great 2012 for all of us.

What a treat! Gina Patterson choreographed amazing dance pieces that swirled around chocolate and dance. This is first in a series of their “Aphrodite Dances” with the Voice dance company (co-founders Eric Midgely and Gina Patterson). I followed them during their rehearsal process, dress rehearsal, and finally with their live performance at Mercury Hall. The audiences watched the dances, while sampling rich chocolate drinks and bites at the same time. It was a wonderful sensory experience. It was an honor being part of the experience!
