This was definitely one of the most unique weddings I’ve ever been to. It was in a ghost town! I felt like a kid when I first arrived, and wanted to explore every inch. In fact, there was a wooden maze there, and I got lost in it, and was panicking (“Photographer trapped in ghost maze!”) but I finally retraced my steps out. The maze was where Jen and Felipe did their first look. Thankfully that went well and no one got trapped in there.

They had a vintage trailer that they had worked on, and a quilt making station instead of a guest book. Everything was very playful and sweet. It was clear that everyone love Jen and Felipe and that they were well-loved in return.

This summer has been a summer of travel for me, which has been amazing. I’ve road-tripped to Santa Cruz with two good friends, James and Ed, company dancers at Ballet Austin, to shoot the wedding of Beth and Todd in a hilltop full of sequoia and good friends. Pictures from that coming soon.

Along the way we stopped to visit Katrina and Andrew, in Sedona. These are their adorable children, and my roadtrip buddies, James and Ed! I am so grateful to friends across the country that were willing to house us as we travel across the US.

We swung by the Painted Desert, which is breath-taking in its stark and minimal beauty. And on the way to Sedona, we found a scenic turn off, and followed it to a natural water slide. We had unknowingly discovered Slide Rock park, and we puddled and danced in the rocks and took some silly pictures.
