I love color. When the Museum of Modern Art did their color exhibit I was so happy to wander around their halls. Bright, beautiful colors make me happy.
When I got a chance to do my first trash the dress session, using paint was an easy choice.
Before there is too much outcry about how pretty the dress is and how could you throw paint on it, please know that there was a really large stain on the front of the dress. It was unlikely that it would ever be re-used as a wedding dress. So we decided to play and make art with it.
Emily was very fearless. She was the one that suggested climbing up a tree. Thankfully, Andy was assisting me and helped her up a tree despite the layers and layers of tulle.
When it came time to play with the paint, we started out with her painting some white flowers pink, and slowly dripping it over the dress.
Creation, destruction, art. Here are the results.

Carrie - Gorgeous Nadine!
Leah Muse - That first picture is awesome. Love the lighting and how.. natural it seems for her to be in the tree.
Elissa - I really like the one fourth from the bottom (and, of course, the one posted right above it, the one you teased us with for what feels like weeks!). She looks like a fairy princess in her natural element. Pretty!
Lara - Yeah, that is a gorgeous dress. But pretty photos are a good substitute. Cool ideas and I love the last shot – so cute!
Shell Bailey - Adorable! These have such a delicate, ethereal feel to them, I love it.
Sarah Der - ARE YOU EVEN SERIOUS. This is one of the loveliest and coolest TTD sessions I’ve ever seen! I love it so, so much and could this girl have been cuter: no. She is lovely.
Kristi Wright - The first photo is so beautiful. Great job!
Daniel from San Diego - Wow, that’s awesome! The dress is beautiful and the light is great! The paint brings a lot of life! Love her face on the last shot!
Darko - Great work – beautiful lighting!
Galen & Derek - The lighting in that third shot is awesome! Have to say I’m jealous of the subject matter 🙂 Well done!
Natalie Gibbs - What a beautiful, serene looking bride. Part of me kind of hates to see such a gorgeous, unique dress get painted, but it’s clear you all had a good time and I know she will love the photos. The last shot is precious.
Leo Druker - This is so amazing! The lighting – the entire concept is executed perfectly 🙂 What a terrific session.
Nora - Oh Wow! These are absolutely beautiful Nadine. Well done.
Kyle - Wow, these are so dramatic yet almost from another world at the same time. Great work, Nadine!
Kat Forsyth - Omigosh, that is so frikkin cool! I’d have loved to see the shot where the paint got ON her, though – did you paint/throw it on yourself? That must have been fun!
I love how the flowers go PERFECTLY with the paint.
Albert Palmer - Holy crap these are cool! Beautiful lighting – stunning work.
Becca Dilley - Wow, that dress is so gorgeous, and the colors of the paint are perfect for it!

Keao - Wow, her dress is beautiful. And it just flows with the setting and your processing. My favorite is the third image even though you can’t see her face (she’s so beautiful) because of the lighting. It looks ethereal.

Danielle - oh these are fabulous!
Heather - This could be the beginning of a strange movie with a bride who has lost her mind, almost insane. the 9th one is my favorite. Are you going to sell photobooks of your work?
Nicole Glazier - I hope she kept the dress! It looks so pretty still!! 🙂
admin - Just letting you guys know that I re-edited the images today just to make the editing style more consistent with my current style 🙂
