TARDIS wedding cardbox and a ring shot | austin wedding photographer

I just recently got married, and we didn’t get a picture of our wedding rings from our photographer. So I posed them with a miniature ceramic house bought at an Austin art festival. I like the concept of a home, because a lot of times, my husband’s arms feel like home. Yes yes, cheesy.

And now the geeky. I’m a big Dr Who fan so my husband made a felt and cardboard TARDIS to be used as our wedding cardbox. It can hold more wedding cards then you think, since it’s bigger on the inside!

We eventually want to add a little LED light on the top of the cardbox to make it flash. Wwwoooosh! Wwwwooosh!

So… we’ve gotten several requests to make a TARDIS cardbox tutorial and have placed it on our todo list. But basically it’s pretty simple, we got blue cardboard, and that was covered with blue felt. Andy printed out the policebox text, and I made the somewhat crooked light on top. It took him 3 nights to get it finished.

trin - I have to know how it was built! My fiance and I are big Dr who nerds and I want to surprise him with this special card box. Thanks!

admin - I’m trying to get my husband to make another one so we can build a tutorial and post it here. But basically it was just cardboard and felt, he just improvised it and finished it in 4 nights.

Thoughts and Ideas | Jason and Sasha Plan a Wedding - […] Tardis cardbox (it’s bigger on the inside!). Something we’d have to make ourselves though, and I’m not that good at do-it-yourself. […]
